Canine Problem Behavior Modification

For owners whose dogs have very specific behavior problems we offer problem behavior modification. Problem behavior consultations generally run 60 minutes (but may occasionally run longer) and are designed to:

  1. Identify the problem behavior.
  2. Identify motivators and rewards.
  3. Address treatability.
  4. Formulate a plan for reducing or removing the problem behavior.

Follow up behavior modification is required, and most often done by the owner in either private classes or in the case of some mild problems, even in a group class.

Examples of common behavior problems include: house training, jumping up, front door/window abuse, and barking. Additionally many dogs experience problems associated with fear (soiling, sound sensitivity, biting, threatening) and problems associated with aggression (guarding, fighting, biting). Almost all problem behaviors respond readily to treatment, and most dogs will show improvement when a well thought out treatment plan based on behavior analysis techniques is applied.

Private problem behavior consultations are scheduled year round in Tulsa and Sand Springs. Fees for consultations at our location are $50 per hour, and in-home consultations are $100 per 90 minutes.
